Administration Guide Managing the distribution settings for a specific job Specify the start time and priority for a job If a job has not started running, you can specify when you want the job to start. If you do not specify the start time for a job, the job starts according to the distribution settings that you configured in the BlackBerry® Administration Service. You can also change the priority of a job. By default, all jobs have a medium priority. If you change the priority of a job to low, the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server processes it after the jobs with a medium or high priority. The BlackBerry Enterprise Server processes jobs with a high priority before it processes jobs with a medium or low priority. 1. In the BlackBerry Administration Service, on the Devices menu, expand Deployment jobs. 2. Click Manage deployment jobs. 3. Search for the job that you want to change. 4. In the search results, click the ID of the job that you want to change. 5. Click Edit job. 6. In the Priority drop-down list, click the appropriate priority for the job. 7. In the Job Schedule section, in the Effective Date field, select the start date for the job. 8. Click Save all. Change how a job sends IT policies to BlackBerry devices You can change how the BlackBerry® Administration Service sends IT policy settings and changes in a specific job to BlackBerry devices. You can change a job's distribution settings for IT policies only if the job is not running. If you changing the IT policy distribution settings for a job, your organization's environment might experience a performance impact. 1. In the BlackBerry Administration Service, on the Devices menu, expand Deployment jobs. 2. Click Manage deployment jobs. 3. Search for the job that you want to change. 4. In the search results, click the ID of the job that you want to change. 5. Click Edit job. 6. On the IT Policy Distribution tab, perform any of the following tasks: Task Steps Change the default recurrence day a. Click the Edit icon for the default recurrence day. for sending IT policy changes. b. In the Scheduled deployment day(s) drop-down list, click the appropriate recurrence option. If necessary, select the recurrence days. c. In the Start time drop-down list, click the appropriate option. If necessary, change the start time and end time. d. Click the Update icon. By default, the recurrence day is Every day and the start time is All day. 253
