WiseImage - User's Guide Adaptive Binarization This command is designed for correcting raster images that have been acquired by scanning blueprint and sepias in grayscale mode. This command enhances those images by improving the binarization in order to make the images readable. Because binarizing images on which the background has a different brightness and the noise and speckles are spread unevenly produces poor results, the Adaptive Binarization tool combines binarization with cleaning of the image. The program estimates the level of noise in the area being processed and does its best to extract the useful data. The command is applicable only to grayscale images.
