Drive connector Description Drive connector Spare part number L28668-001 (Cable Kit) Before removing the drive connector, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 31). 5. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 33). 6. Remove the solid-state drive (see Solid-state drive (2.5 inch) on page 40). Remove the drive connector: 1. Disconnect the cable from the system board ZIF connector (1). 2. Remove the two Phillips M2.0×4.0 screws (2) that secure the connector to the computer. 3. Before removing the drive connector, follow these steps:
1.
Turn
off
the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is
off
or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4.
Remove the bottom cover (see

).
5.
Remove the battery (see

on page
33
).
6.
Remove the solid-state drive (see
Solid-state drive (2.5 inch)
on page
40
).
Remove the drive connector:
1.
Disconnect the cable from the system board ZIF connector
(1)

2.
Remove the two Phillips M2.0×4.0 screws
(2)
that secure the connector to the computer.
3.
Remove the connector from the computer

Reverse this procedure to install the drive connector.
