^H(E [Name] Echo back [Format] ^H(E a Parameters Description Range a Echo string 0- to 18-character ASCII string [Function] Returns the character string specified by Parameter a to the host. [Initial value] None [Response] The printer sends the echo string according to the following data format. Control code that indicates start of text (02H) "^H(E" fixed 4 characters 0- to 18-character ASCII string specified in Parameter a Control code that indicates end of text (03H) Control code that indicates carriage return (0DH) Control code that indicates line feed (0AH) If Parameter a is omitted, the printer responds with the Parameter a string omitted. If Parameter a is not an ASCII string, the printer responds with the Parameter a string omitted. [Usage example] An example of the data sent and received when an echo string is echoed back is shown below. ^XZ^H(Eabc^XZ Request to send echo string "abc". Example of response data from the printer: ->^H(Eabc Echo back with echo string as "abc" in response. An example of the data sent and received when omitting Parameter a is shown below. ^XA^H(E^XZ Request to echo back without specifying echo string.
