Parking Stop the motorcycle, then put it on the side stand (see page 23). Turn the handlebar fully left and block it by pushing in the ignition key and turning it to the LOCK position. If you park in a garage or other facilities, make sure that there is proper ventilation and that the motorcycle is not near a source of heat or sparks. You may leave the parking lights on by turning the key to position P. Important Do not leave the key turned to P for long periods or the battery will run down. Never leave the ignition key in the switch when you are leaving your bike unattended. Warning Using padlocks or locks that prevent motion (such as brake disc or crown sprocket locks and so on) is very dangerous and may affect motorcycle operation as well as the safety of rider and passenger. Refuelling Never overfill the tank when refuelling. Fuel should never be touching the rim of filler recess (fig. 33). Warning Be sure there is no fuel trapped in the filler recess.
