Advanced Setup - Part 2 This Speaker Setup section describes the procedures to make speaker settings manually (without using the Auto Setup function), as well as to make manual changes to settings that have already been made by the Auto Setup function. Advanced Setup - Part 2 3 Press the CURSOR D or H button to select the speaker, then press the CURSOR F or G button to select the parameter. Speaker Setup • If the "Auto Setup" procedure has already been performed, there is no need to make this setting. • Perform this setting if you wish to make the settings for your speaker systems manually. ENTER Setting the type of speakers The composition of the signals output to each channels and the frequency response are adjusted according to the combination of speakers actually being used. 1 Press the CURSOR D or H button to select "Speaker Setup" at the "System Setup Menu", then press the ENTER button. • The "Speaker Setup" menu screen appears. B 4 Press the ENTER button to enter the setting. • The "Speaker Setup" menu reappears. • Select "Large" or "Small" not according to the actual size of the speaker but according to the speaker's capacity for playing low frequency (bass sound below the frequency set for the Crossover Frequency) signals. If you do not know, try comparing the sound at both settings (setting the volume to a level low enough so as not to damage the speakers) to determine the proper setting. 2 Parameters SYSTEM SETUP CURSOR ENTER 2 Press the CURSOR D or H button to select "Speaker Config.", then press the ENTER button. • The "Speaker Config." screen appears. Large: Select this when using speakers that can fully reproduce deep bass well below the frequency set for the Crossover Frequency mode. Small: Select this when using speakers that are not capable of handling deep bass well below the frequency set for the Crossover Frequency mode. Deep bass content in any channel with a SMALL speaker is routed to the subwoofer(s). None: Select this when no speakers are installed. Yes / No: Select "Yes" when a subwoofer is installed, "No" when a subwoofer is not installed. 2spkrs / 1spkr: Select the number of speakers to be used for the surround back channel. 82
