Indicator Lights Instruments, Features and Controls Turn Signal Indicator The turn signal indicator flashes when the left, right, or both turn signals (hazard) are active. If a turn signal bulb has failed, or if there is a short circuit in the turn signal system, the turn signal indicator flashes at more than twice the normal rate. See page 39 for operation procedures. Low Fuel Indicator The low fuel indicator illuminates when approximately 0.8 gallons (3 l) of fuel remains in the fuel tank. Low Oil Pressure Indicator The low oil pressure indicator illuminates when engine oil pressure drops below safe operating pressure. If this indicator illuminates while the engine is running, turn the engine off immediately and check the oil level. Add oil if necessary. If the oil level is correct and the indicator remains illuminated after the engine is restarted, turn the engine off immediately. The low oil pressure indicator also illuminates when the ignition switch is in the ON position and the engine is not running. This demonstrates that the indicator is functioning properly. 37
