Headlight Lamp Replacement Maintenance High intensity discharge lamps should be handled only by a trained technician wearing the appropriate protective gear. See the VICTORY Service Manual or an authorized VICTORY dealer. Halogen Lamps (8-Ball Models) 1. Unplug the wiring harness from the back of the headlight (lift the tab). Be sure to pull on the connector, not on the wiring. Tip: Avoid touching a halogen lamp with bare fingers. Oil from your skin leaves a residue, causing a hot spot that will shorten the life of the lamp. If a lamp is touched, clean it thoroughly with denatured alcohol. 2. Remove the spent lamp. Apply dielectric grease to the socket and install a new lamp. 3. Reinstall the wiring harness. 121
