Maintenance Spark Plugs Spark Plug Recommendations Replace spark plugs at the intervals recommended in the periodic maintenance table beginning on page 70. Always replace spark plugs in pairs. Wear face protection when using pressurized air. 1. Make sure the engine is at room temperature. 2. Disconnect the spark plug wires by pulling upward on the spark plug boots. 3. To prevent any debris from entering the engine through the spark plug hole, use pressurized air to clean the area around each spark plug before removing it. 4. Remove the spark plug from the cylinder head with a 5/8-inch spark plug socket. 110
