4. Installation Instructions Design of 2WAY VRF SYSTEM 4-2-1. Calculating Method of Collecting Installation Dimensions Determine the number of outdoor units per one block (block of collected outdoor units) Check the length per one block (Lb) Determine the distance between the blocks of outdoor units within the same line of outdoor units (La) Determine the distance between the lines of outdoor units (outdoor block) (Luu) Determine the distance between each surface of the wall and outdoor units (Lw) Determine provisional installation dimension of outdoor units (Lm, Ln) Calculate the necessary suction area of outdoor units (Sr) In case the judgement condition is not satisfied: 1 Calculate the intake airflow area from surrounding against outdoor units (S) Judge the suction area Check for rate of performance in capacity 2 Dimensions when collecting and installing collected outdoor units Number of units "M" Lm (ft. Distance Between Outdoor Units and Between Lines of Outdoor Units If outdoor units are closely installed, the discharged air returns to suction side, causing abnormally high temperature and 6 pressure which could lead to equipment damage and personally injury, which is called "air-short cycling". In this section we confirm the distance between the outdoor units and distance between the lines of outdoor units. 1. Length of the line of outdoor units (Lm) and distance between blocks of outdoor units A block of outdoor units: A block of outdoor units are group of outdoor units installed together in line with minimum distance to 7 each other. Arrange the outdoor units with less than 3 units per one block and less than 30 Ton. Distance between a block of outdoor units (Laa): Install them with reference to Table 15. Distance between outdoor units within a block: Over 2-3/8 in. (60 mm) of distance between top panels Over 7-1/8 in. (180 mm) of distance between anchor bolts Criteria of length of line (Lm): See the dimensions in Table 16. 8 Lm = Lb × N + Laa × (N-1) Lb : Length of block N : Number of blocks of outdoor units This formula is made assuming the Laa is equally allocated. 9 2 - 30
