MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT 51 Throttle Cable Throttle Cable Adjustment Inspect the throttle grip for smooth operation in all steering positions. Check and adjust the throttle cable in accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart. Check that the throttle grip has 2 ~ 3 mm (0.08 ~ 0.12 in.) of play and turns smoothly. • A. Adjusters B. Be sure the control cables are adjusted and routed correctly, and are free from damage. • If the play is incorrect, loosen the locknut on the upper end of the throttle cable and turn the adjuster to obtain the specified play. Then, tighten the locknut toward the adjuster.

Throttle Cable
Throttle Cable Adjustment
Inspect the throttle grip for smooth operation in all
steering positions. Check and adjust the throttle ca-
ble in accordance with the Periodic Maintenance
Chart.
Check that the throttle grip has 2 ~ 3 mm (0.08 ~
0.12 in.) of play and turns smoothly.

If the play is incorrect, loosen the locknut on the
upper end of the throttle cable and turn the adjust-
er to obtain the specified play. Then, tighten the
locknut toward the adjuster.
