38 MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT NOTICE Use coolant containing corrosion inhibitors made specifically for aluminum engines and radiators in accordance with the instruction of the manufacture. Soft or distilled water must be used with the antifreeze in the cooling system. If hard water is used in the system, it causes scale accumulation in the water passages, and considerably reduces the efficiency of the cooling system. Spark Plug The spark plug should be taken out periodically for inspection and regapping. Measure the gap with a wire-type thickness gauge. If incorrect, adjust the gap to the specified value by bending the outer electrode. Spark Plug Gap CPR8EB-9 CPR9EB-9 0.8 ~ 0.9 mm (0.031 ~ 0.035 in.) NOTICE
Use coolant containing corrosion inhibitors
made specifically for aluminum engines and
radiators in accordance with the instruction
of the manufacture. Soft or distilled water
must be used with the antifreeze in the cool-
ing system. If hard water is used in the sys-
tem,
it

the efficiency of the cooling system.
NOTE
Pour in the coolant slowly so that it can expel the
air from the engine and radiator.
Install the radiator cap.
Check the cooling system for leaks.
Start the engine and warm up thoroughly, then
stop it.
Check the coolant level after the engine has
cooled down. The coolant should come up to the
bottom of the radiator filler neck.
If the coolant level is low, add coolant up to the
bottom of the radiator filler neck.
Install the radiator cap.
Check the cooling system for leaks.
Spark Plug
The spark plug should be taken out periodically
for inspection and regapping. Measure the gap with
a wire-type thickness gauge. If incorrect, adjust the
gap to the specified value by bending the outer elec-
trode.
