A. Glow Plugs
NOTE
ż
Do not use more than 3 cc of engine oil in each
cylinder. Too much oil could cause hydraulic lock
and engine damage.
Install the glow plugs.
Tightening Torque
Glow Plug:
17 N·m (1.7 kgf·m, 12 ft·lb)
Detach the fuel solenoid switch connector. Crank
the engine very briefly several times, to evenly
coat the cylinder walls with the oil.
NOTE
ż
Do not crank the engine long enough that it starts,
or the oilling procedure must be repeated.
Reattach the fuel solenoid switch connector.
A. Fuel Solenoid Switch Connector
Put boards under the front and rear wheels to keep
dampness away from the tire rubber.
Spray oil on all unpainted metal surfaces to pre-
vent rusting. Avoid getting oil on rubber parts or in
the brakes.
Lubricate all the cables as indicated in the General
Lubrication section.
Remove the battery, and store it where it will not
be exposed to direct sunlight, moisture, or freezing
temperatures. During storage it should be given
a slow charge (one ampere or less) about once
a month. Do not store it on bare ground. It will
discharge more quickly.
