E Electrical system Basic electric items are: front headlamp featuring two halogen lamps, consisting of the following: HB3 12V-60W low beam unit; HB3 12V-60W high beam unit; 12V-5W parking light. Electrical controls on handlebars. Turn indicators, 12V-10W bulbs. Horn. Stop light switches. Sealed battery, 12V-10 Ah. Generator 12V-480W. Electronic voltage regulator (rectifier), protected by a 40 A fuse near the battery. DENSO starter motor, 12V-0.7 kW. Tail light, 12V-5/21W double filament bulb for stop light and parking light; 12V-5W bulb for number plate light. Notes See "Replacing bulbs" on page 68 for relevant instructions. Fuses The main fuse box (1, fig. 82) is located between headlight mount and headlight fairing. To expose the fuses, take off the box protective cover. Mounting position and ampere capacity are marked on it. Two fuses (2, fig. 83) located at the side of the battery protect the relay of the injection system and engine control unit. The fuse (3) protects the electronic regulator. Remove the protective cap to expose the fuses. A blown fuse is identified by the interrupted inner filament (4, fig. 84). Important Switch the ignition key to OFF before replacing the fuse to avoid possible short circuits. Warning Never use a fuse with a rating other than specified. Failure to observe this rule may damage the electric system or even lead to fire. 88
