M6100, M5300, and M7100 Series Managed Switches Configure the Multicast Admin Boundary The definition of an administratively scoped boundary is a mechanism to stop the ingress and egress of multicast traffic for a given range of multicast addresses on a given routing interface.  To configure the multicast admin boundary: 1. Prepare your computer with a static IP address in the 169.254.100.0 subnet, for example, 169.254.100.201. 2. Connect an Ethernet cable from an Ethernet port on your computer to an Ethernet port on the switch. 3. Launch a web browser. 4. Enter the IP address of the switch in the web browser address field. The default IP address of the switch is 169.254.100.100. The Login screen displays. 5. Enter the user name and password. The default admin user name is admin and the default admin password is blank, that is, do not enter a password. 6. Click the Login button. The web management interface menu displays. 7. Select Routing> Multicast > Admin Boundary Configuration. 8. In the Interface list, select the router interface for which the administratively-scoped boundary is to be configured. 9. In the Group IP field, enter the multicast group address for the start of the range of addresses to be excluded. The address must be in the range of 239.0.0.0 through 239.255.255.255. 10. In the Group Mask field, enter the mask to be applied to the multicast group address. The combination of the mask and the group IP gives the range of administratively scoped addresses for the selected interface. 11. Click the Add button. The administratively scoped boundary is added.
