Releasing the throttle slows forward motion but the
engine will still be running, so you can steer the boat
after reapplying the throttle. In this manner you can
turn and move away from any obstacles.
WARNING
JET SKI watercraft require throttle (thrust) to
steer; releasing the throttle completely re-
duces the ability to steer and may cause you
to hit an object you are trying to avoid, caus-
ing injury or death. To avoid collisions main-
tain or apply throttle as needed to maintain
thrust at the jet nozzle to initiate a turn.
Push the engine stop button when you are ap-
proaching the shore and intend to stop. The engine
stops immediately, so it prevents sand or debris from
entering and damaging the jet pump. Never run the
engine in water less than 0.8 m (2.5 ft) deep.
WARNING
JET SKI watercraft require throttle (thrust)
to steer; stopping the engine eliminates the
ability to steer and may cause you to hit an
object you are trying to avoid, causing injury
or death. To avoid collisions do not stop the
engine while riding; maintain or apply throt-
tle as needed to maintain thrust at the jet noz-
zle to initiate a turn.
