Lubrication Recommendations Oil and Filter Change MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION Magnum 330 2x4, Magnum 330 4x4, Trail Boss 1. Position the vehicle on a level 1 surface. 2. Clean the area around the drain plug (1). 3. Run the engine for two to three minutes until warm. Stop the engine. Contact with hot oil may result in serious burns. Do not allow hot oil to come into contact with skin. CAUTION 4. Place a drain pan beneath the engine crankcase and remove the drain plug. 5. Allow the oil to drain completely. 6. Install a new sealing washer on the drain plug. NOTE: The sealing surfaces on the drain plug and crankcase should be clean and free of burrs, nicks or scratches. 7. Reinstall the drain plug and torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm). 8. Place shop towels beneath the oil filter. Using an oil filter wrench, turn the filter counterclockwise to remove. 9. Using a clean, dry cloth, clean the filter sealing surface on the crankcase. 10. Lubricate the gasket on the new filter with a film of engine oil. Check to make sure the gasket is in good condition. 11. Install the new filter and turn by hand until the filter gasket contacts the sealing surface, then turn and additional 1/2 turn. 89

1. Positionthevehicleonalevel

2. Cleantheareaaroundthedrain
plug(1).
3. Runtheenginefortwotothree
minutesuntilwarm. Stopthe
engine.
4. Placeadrainpanbeneaththeenginecrankcaseandremovethe
drainplug.
5. Allowtheoiltodraincompletely.
6. Installanewsealingwasheronthedrainplug.
NOTE:
The
sealingsurfacesonthedrainplugandcrankcaseshouldbeclean
andfreeofburrs,nicksorscratches.
7. Reinstallthedrainplugandtorqueto14ft.lbs.(19Nm).
8. Placeshoptowelsbeneaththeoilfilter. Usinganoilfilterwrench,
turnthefiltercounterclockwisetoremove.
9. Usingaclean,drycloth,cleanthefiltersealingsurfaceonthe
crankcase.
10. Lubricatethegasketonthenewfilterwithafilmofengineoil.
Checktomakesurethegasketisingoodcondition.
11. Installthenewfilterandturnbyhanduntilthefiltergasket
contactsthesealingsurface,thenturnandadditional1/2turn.
