SAFE OPERATION 67 Before Starting the Engine Two "musts" before starting the engine are: 1) Set the parking brake, 2) Check the throttle for proper operation. It should snap closed when released with the handlebars in any position. Use the Parking Brake Always apply the parking brake before getting off your vehicle. If it should roll, it might be damaged or cause injury. NOTICE The brake light goes on whenever you apply the parking brake. If you leave the brake light on for a long time, the battery may become totally discharged. Whenever you leave the vehicle, turn off ignition key. j
