MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT 135 Brake lever lubrication Lubricate the pivoting parts of the brake levers. Recommended lubricant: Lithium-soap-based grease (All-purpose grease) Knuckle shaft and rear fork shaft lubrication Lubricate the pivot points using a grease gun. Recommended lubricant: Lithium-soap-based grease Cleaning Frequent, thorough cleaning of your machine will not only enhance its appearance but will improve its general performance and extend the useful life of many components. WARNING HAZARD Debris build-up in and around the vehicle chassis, engine, and exhaust. WHAT CAN HAPPEN Build-up of debris or flammable material in and around the vehicle can cause mechanical problems and increase the risk of fire. HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD When operating the vehicle in conditions that allow debris or flammable material to collect in and around the vehicle, inspect the engine, electrical component and exhaust areas frequently. If debris or flammable materials have collected, park the vehicle outside and stop the engine. Allow the engine to cool, then remove any collected debris.
