3: Using DeviceInstaller This chapter covers the steps for viewing the MatchPort device server's properties and device details. Note: DeviceInstaller is a free utility program provided by Lantronix that discovers, configures, upgrades, and manages Lantronix Device Servers. It can be downloaded from the Lantronix website at www.lantronix.com/support/downloads. For instructions on using DeviceInstaller to configure the IP address and related settings or for more advanced features, see the DeviceInstaller Online Help. The MatchPort's default configuration is BOOTP, DHCP, and AutoIP enabled. For the MatchPort b/g, additional default configurations are:  Network name: LTRX_IBSS  Ad hoc mode  No security The computer on which DeviceInstaller will be installed must be on the same local subnet or, for the MatchPort b/g, it needs to have access to a wireless card with the same settings. Set the IP address to 0.0.0.0. Note: AutoIP generates a random IP address in the range 169.254.0.1 to 169.254.255.254 if no BOOTP or DHCP server is found. 3: Using DeviceInstaller
This chapter covers the steps for viewing the MatchPort device server’s properties
and device details.
Note:
DeviceInstaller is a free utility program provided by Lantronix that
discovers, configures, upgrades, and manages Lantronix Device Servers. It
can be downloaded from the Lantronix website at

The MatchPort’s default configuration is BOOTP, DHCP, and AutoIP enabled. For the
MatchPort b/g, additional default configurations are:
Network name: LTRX_IBSS
Ad hoc mode
No security
The computer on which DeviceInstaller will be installed must be on the same local
