Chapter 2: Installing Adaptec Storage Manager ● 21 Installing on UnixWare or OpenServer Note: If a previous version of Adaptec Storage Manager is installed on your system, you must remove it before beginning this installation. Any customization files you created with the previous version are saved and used in the upgrade. To remove Adaptec Storage Manager, type the pkgrm RaidMan command. To install Adaptec Storage Manager: 1 Insert the Adaptec Storage Manager Installation CD. 2 Mount the Adaptec Storage Manager Installation CD: mount -r -F cdfs /dev/cdrom/cdromdevicefile /mnt where cdromdevicefile is the device file name (for example, c0b0t010 for a CD-ROM block device). To find the device file name, look in the /dev/cdrom directory. 3 Install Adaptec Storage Manager: For UnixWare pkgadd -d /mnt/unixware/manager/RaidMan.ds For OpenServer pkgadd -d /mnt/openserv6/manager/RaidMan.ds 4 Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. 5 Unmount the Adaptec Storage Manager Installation CD: umount /mnt Installing on Solaris Note: If a previous version of Adaptec Storage Manager is installed on your system, you must remove it before beginning this installation. Note:
If a previous version of Adaptec Storage Manager is installed on your system, you must

To install Adaptec Storage Manager:

Insert the Adaptec Storage Manager Installation CD.

Mount the Adaptec Storage Manager Installation CD:
mount -r -F cdfs /dev/cdrom/cdromdevicefile /mnt
where
cdromdevicefile
is the device file name (for example,
c0b0t010
for a CD-ROM
block device). To find the device file name, look in the /dev/cdrom directory.

Install Adaptec Storage Manager:
For UnixWare
