Chapter 5 Working with Zones What are zones? With BrightSign zones you can divide the screen into rectangles and play different content in each rectangle. You can create the following types of zones: • VideoORImages: This zone supports videos and images. You can create only one zone with video (either a VideORImages zone or a Video zone). • Video: This zone supports videos. You can create only one zone with video (either a VideORImages zone or a Video zone). • Images: This zone supports playback images. You can create multiple image zones. • RSS: This zone supports playback of a single RSS feed. • Text: This zone plays static text. • Clock: This zone displays the time and it requires the RESOURCES.TXT file. Below are a few examples of zone layouts, but there are many other ways to arrange your zones on the screen. The only rules you need to keep in mind are that only one zone can contain video and Image zones cannot overlap.
