Chapter 11 Maintenance and Inspection - Warning system Warning system If an error is detected immediately after the camera is turned on or during operation, the viewfinder, lamp, and tally lamp indicate the error. Deal with the error by following the indications. Cases indicated by error messages During recording/playback Display [AUTH NG CARD] (slot number) [BACKUP BATT EMPTY] [CARD ERROR] (slot number) [CLIP DISCONTINUED] [DIR NG CARD] (slot number) [PB INTERMITTENT] Description Behavior and cause CPS authentication of microP2 memory card has failed. The microP2 memory card whose CPS authentication failed cannot be recorded or played back. ffThe current operation will continue. ffSelect [AUTHENTICATE] in the main menu → [CLIP], and enter the password. Displays any reduced voltage detected on the backup battery in the internal clock when the power is turned on. ffThe current operation will continue. ffCharge the built-in battery. Displayed when an data error caused by the P2 card occurs during recording. Displayed after recording stops until the next operation. Also displayed for three seconds during playback when a P2 card error causes playback to stop. ffIf the error occurs during recording, the tally lamp and lamp flash four times per second for approx. three seconds after recording stops. ffThe tally lamp does not flash when an error occurs during playback. ffThe operation will stop. ffAfter it stops, the P2 card on which the error occurred is write-protected. Replace the P2 card of the slot where the error occurred. Displayed when clips cannot be linked with the subsequent recording operations due to the inconsistency as linked clips during recording in one-clip recording mode. ffThe current operation will continue. The directory position is not correct. ffThe current operation will continue. ffMake a card backup immediately and format the card to use it again. Playback is interrupted on the SDHC/SDXC memory card. A card whose playback performance cannot be assured is inserted. ffThe current operation will continue. ffUse of microP2 or P2 memory card is recommended. - 203 -

Warning system

If an error is detected immediately after the camera is turned on or during operation, the viewﬁnder, <WARNING> lamp, and tally lamp indicate the error.

Deal with the error by following the indications.

The microP2 memory card whose CPS authentication

failed cannot be recorded or played back.

The current operation will continue.

Select [AUTHENTICATE] in the main menu

and enter the password.

[BACKUP BATT EMPTY]

Displays any reduced voltage detected on the backup

battery in the internal clock when the power is turned

on.

The current operation will continue.

Charge the built-in battery.

[CARD ERROR] (slot number)

Displayed when an data error caused by the P2 card

occurs during recording.

Displayed after recording stops until the next operation.

Also displayed for three seconds during playback when

a P2 card error causes playback to stop.

If the error occurs during recording, the tally lamp and

<WARNING> lamp ﬂash four times per second for

approx. three seconds after recording stops.

The tally lamp does not ﬂash when an error occurs

during playback.

The operation will stop.

After it stops, the P2 card on which the error occurred

is write-protected. Replace the P2 card of the slot

where the error occurred.

[CLIP DISCONTINUED]

Displayed when clips cannot be linked with the

subsequent recording operations due to the

inconsistency as linked clips during recording in one-clip

recording mode.

The current operation will continue.

[DIR NG CARD] (slot number)

The directory position is not correct.

The current operation will continue.

Make a card backup immediately and format the card

to use it again.

[PB INTERMITTENT]

Playback is interrupted on the SDHC/SDXC memory

card. A card whose playback performance cannot be

assured is inserted.

The current operation will continue.

Use of microP2 or P2 memory card is recommended.
