Always shield your eyes when working near batteries. KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. Charge or have a Yamaha dealer charge the battery as soon as possible if it seems to have discharged. Keep in mind that the battery tends to discharge more quickly if the snowmobile is equipped with electrical accessories. EWS00610 ESU12333 Replacing a fuse EWS00550 WARNING Be sure to use the specified fuse. A wrong fuse could cause electrical system damage or A FIRE HAZARD. ECS00631 NOTICE Be sure to turn the main switch to the off position and disconnect the negative battery lead to prevent accidental short-circuiting. 1. Remove the shroud, the left and right side covers, and the top cover. (See page 43 for removal procedures.) Remove the headlight unit bolts, disconnect the headlight couplers and speedometer coupler, and then remove the headlight unit. Disconnect the negative lead first, then the positive lead from the battery. Connect the positive lead first, then the negative lead to the battery when installing the battery. Make sure that the battery terminals are tight. 2. 1 1 ECS00842 NOTICE G G To charge a VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) battery, a special (constantvoltage) battery charger is required. If you do not have access to a constantvoltage battery charger, have a Yamaha dealer charge your battery. Using a conventional battery charger will damage the battery. Remove the shroud, the left and right
side covers, and the top cover. (See page
43 for removal procedures.)
2.
Remove the headlight unit bolts, discon-
nect the headlight couplers and speed-
ometer coupler, and then remove the
headlight unit.
3.
Unhook the air filter case fastener and
disconnect the air temperature sensor
coupler.
