If it is not full, remove the coolant reservoir cap, fill the reservoir with the recommended coolant, and then install the cap. TIP If you find any leaks, consult a Yamaha dealer. 8. 1. Remove the coolant recovery tank cap, add the recommended coolant until it reaches the "COLD LEVEL" mark, and then install the cap. WARNING G G Coming in contact with the rotating Vbelt or clutch parts can cause severe injury or death. Never run the engine with the drive guard removed. Make sure that the drive guard is tightened securely before operating the snowmobile to protect against severe injury or death from a broken V-belt or other part should it come off the snowmobile while it is in operation. Remove the coolant recovery tank cap,
add the recommended coolant until it
reaches the “COLD LEVEL” mark, and
then install the cap.
5.
Start the engine, allow it to idle for several
minutes, and then turn it off.
6.
Check for any coolant leakage. If coolant
is leaking, check for the cause.
7.
Check the coolant level in the coolant
reservoir. If it is not full, remove the cool-
ant reservoir cap, fill the reservoir with the
recommended coolant, and then install
the cap.
TIP
If you find any leaks, consult a Yamaha deal-
er.
8.
Install the top cover.

Coming in contact with the rotating V-
belt or clutch parts can cause severe in-

The V-belt should be checked before each
ride.
To check the V-belt
1.
Remove the shroud and the left side cov-
er, and then remove the drive guard.
(See pages 21 and 43 for removal proce-
dures.)
2.
Check the V-belt for wear and damage.
Replace if necessary.
