MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT 77 Engine Oil fills the oil filter with oil. Stop the engine, then wait several minutes until the oil settles. WARNING The cargo bed requires a supporting hook to remain in the raised position and will fall down if not supported, creating the potential for injury. Always latch the supporting hook when lifting the bed for engine or other maintenance below the bed. In order for the engine to function properly, maintain the engine oil at the proper level, and change the oil and oil filter in accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart. Not only do dirt and metal particles collect in the oil, but the oil itself loses its lubricative quality if used too long.
