78 MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT Tightening Torque Cylinder Head Cover Bolts: 9.8 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 87 in·lb) Exhaust System The exhaust system, in particular the muffler body, is designed to reduce exhaust noise and conduct the exhaust gases away from the rider while minimizing power loss. If carbon has built up inside the muffler body, exhaust efficiency is reduced, causing engine performance to drop. If the muffler body is badly damaged, dented, cracked or rusted, replace it. Replace the silencer wool if the exhaust noise becomes too loud or engine performance drops. j • Install the two caps to the magneto cover. Tightening Torque Timing Inspection Cap: 3.9 N·m (0.40 kgf·m, 35 in·lb) Flywheel Nut Cap: 4.9 N·m (0.50 kgf·m, 43 in·lb) • Install the removed parts. Tightening Torque
Cylinder Head Cover Bolts:
9.8 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 87 in·lb)
Install the two caps to the magneto cover.
Tightening Torque
Timing Inspection Cap:
3.9 N·m (0.40 kgf·m, 35 in·lb)
Flywheel Nut Cap:
4.9 N·m (0.50 kgf·m, 43 in·lb)
Install the removed parts.
