This torque value (31 N·m (3.1 kgf·m, 23 ft·lb)) is
applicable when you use a torque wrench whose
length gives leverage of approximately 310 mm
(12.2 in.) between the grip point to the center of
the coupling square.
Apply a non-permanent locking agent to the front
fork clamp bolts (upper).
Tighten the front fork clamp bolts (upper) to the
specified torque.
Tightening Torque
Front Fork Clamp Bolts (Upper):
23 N·m (2.3 kgf·m, 17 ft·lb)
A. Top Plug Wrench (Special Tool: 57001-1645)
B. Distance
Install the front brake caliper to the fork leg, and
tighten the front caliper mounting bolts to the spec-
ified torque.
Tightening Torque
Front Caliper Mounting Bolts:
25 N·m (2.5 kgf·m, 18 ft·lb)
Take out wood wedge between the disc brake
pads.
Apply high-temperature grease to the oil seals of
the wheel.
Install the collars on the left and right side of the
hub.
Put the front wheel assembly between the fork
legs, and insert the front brake disc into the front
brake pads.
Insert the front axle from the right side of the mo-
torcycle.
Tighten the right front axle clamp bolts temporary.
Tighten the front axle nut to the specified torque.
Tightening Torque
Front Axle Nut:
78 N·m (8.0 kgf·m, 58 ft·lb)
Tighten the left front axle clamp bolts to the spec-
ified torque.
Tightening Torque
Left Front Axle Clamp Bolts:
20 N·m (2.0 kgf·m, 15 ft·lb)
