Tightening torque: Locknut: 25 Nm (2.5 m·kgf, 18 ft·lbf) 5. Install the right side cover. 3. Check the brake pads for wear. If the brake pads reach the wear limit, ask a Yamaha dealer to replace them. Do not operate the snowmobile if you find any problems in the brake system. You could lose braking ability, which could lead to an accident. Ask a Yamaha dealer to inspect and repair the brake system. 1. Brake pad wear limit Brake pad wear limit: 4.7 mm (0.19 in) 4. Install the right side cover. Checking the parking brake pads Check the parking brake pads for wear according to the following procedure. 1. Remove the right side cover. (See page 49 for removal procedures.) 2. Check the parking brake pads for wear by measuring the thickness of the pads. If the parking brake pads reach the wear limit, ask a Yamaha dealer to replace them.
