Periodic maintenance and adjustment Bleeding the cooling system The cooling system must be bled if the coolant reservoir becomes empty, if air can be seen in the cooling system, or if there is a cooling system leak. Consult a Yamaha dealer. ECS00500 NOTICE Operating the engine with an improperly bled cooling system can cause overheating and severe engine damage. Replenishing the coolant 1. 2. Place the snowmobile on a level surface and apply the parking brake. Remove the top cover (PZ50RT / PZ50GT / PZ50MT) or open the shroud (PZ50VT), and then remove the right upper cover. (See page 49 for the procedures.) Remove the coolant reservoir cap, add the recommended coolant until it reaches the "COLD LEVEL" mark, and then install the cap. 3. Bleeding the cooling system
The cooling system must be bled if the cool-
ant reservoir becomes empty, if air can be
seen in the cooling system, or if there is a
cooling system leak. Consult a Yamaha deal-
er.

Replenishing the coolant
1.
Place the snowmobile on a level surface
and apply the parking brake.
2.
Remove
the
top
cover
(PZ50RT /
PZ50GT / PZ50MT) or open the shroud
(PZ50VT), and then remove the right up-
per cover. (See page 49 for the proce-
dures.)
3.
Remove the coolant reservoir cap, add
the recommended coolant until it reaches
the “COLD LEVEL” mark, and then install
the cap.
4.
Start the engine, allow it to idle for several
minutes, and then turn it off.
5.
Check for any coolant leakage. If coolant
is leaking, check for the cause.
TIP
If you find any leaks, consult a Yamaha deal-
er.
6.
Fill the coolant reservoir with coolant until
it reaches the “COLD LEVEL” mark.
7.
Install the right upper cover, and then in-
stall the top cover (PZ50RT / PZ50GT /
PZ50MT) or close the shroud (PZ50VT).
