9 Backing up and restoring the HP StoreOnce Enterprise Manager database The administrator uses the backup and restore utility to make periodic backups of the configuration and device data that is stored in the HP StoreOnce Enterprise Manager system. Taking periodic backup of the database helps to restore the configuration data, if the HP StoreOnce Enterprise Manager crashes at a later point in time. Backing up the HP StoreOnce Enterprise Manager database NOTE: The utility is only accessible on the server on which the HP StoreOnce Enterprise Manager is installed. To back up the information on the HP StoreOnce Enterprise Manager database: 1. On the host server, click Start. 2. Select All Programs→Hewlett-Packard→HP StoreOnce Enterprise Manager→Backup StoreOnce Enterprise Manager Database. The utility opens and runs in a new command window. 3. At the prompt, perform one of the following tasks: • Choose the default location for the backup file (InstallDir/config/dbDump) by pressing Enter. • Enter a folder path to store the database backup file, and then press Enter. 4. The database backup is created, and the backup file is stored at the specified location. Manager database
The administrator uses the backup and restore utility to make periodic backups of the configuration
and device data that is stored in the HP StoreOnce Enterprise Manager system.
Taking periodic backup of the database helps to restore the configuration data, if the HP StoreOnce
Enterprise Manager crashes at a later point in time.
Backing up the HP StoreOnce Enterprise Manager database
NOTE:
The utility is only accessible on the server on which the HP StoreOnce Enterprise Manager
is installed.
To back up the information on the HP StoreOnce Enterprise Manager database:
1.
On the host server, click
Start
.
2.
Select
All Programs
Hewlett-Packard
HP StoreOnce Enterprise Manager
Backup StoreOnce
Enterprise Manager Database
.
The utility opens and runs in a new command window.
3.
At the prompt, perform one of the following tasks:
Choose the default location for the backup file (
InstallDir/config/dbDump
) by
pressing
Enter

Enter a folder path to store the database backup file, and then press

.
4.
The database backup is created, and the backup file is stored at the specified location.
