Fuel System MAINTENANCE Fuel Hose, Rail, and Connections Inspect the fuel hoses for cracks or damage. Inspect the hose connection at the fuel pump and at the fuel rail for dampness or stains from leaking or dried fuel. Crankcase Ventilation Hose and Connections Remove the operators seat and fuel tank. Inspect the crankcase ventilation hose for cracks or damage. Inspect the hose connection at the air cleaner and at the crankcase for dampness or stains from leaking. Evaporative Emission Control System (California models only) Visually inspect all evaporative emission control system hoses and connections. Make sure all connections are tight. Also, inspect the evaporative canister to make sure it has not been damaged. Fuel Tank Removal / Installation Observe all fuel safety procedures when servicing the fuel system. See page 19. Be prepared to place the fuel tank in a secure location with a drain pan positioned to catch any fuel that may leak or drip from disconnected hoses or fittings. 1. Remove the operator's seat. 2. Remove the fuel line access cover (1). 3. Remove the two front and one rear fuel tank mounting screws. 1 101
