Maintenance Carburetor Jetting Carburetor re-jetting can be performed to compensate for altitude and/or temperature changes. If the vehicle is to be operated at various altitudes and temperatures, certain adjustments can be made to improve its operation and driveability. Above 6000 feet (1800 m) the engine air/fuel mixture becomes overly rich. An engine loses approximately 3% of its power for each 1000-foot (305 m) increase in elevation. Although this power cannot be regained, changes to the carburetor and drive system can be made to allow more efficient operation. NOTE: Contact your dealer for altitude adjustments. Your dealer has the training and special tools required to perform these modifications. 126

Carburetor Jetting

ments can be made to improve its operation and driveability. Above 6000 feet (1800 m) the
