76 HOW TO RIDE (For "2WD") WARNING HAZARD Stalling, rolling backwards or improperly dismounting while climbing a hill. WHAT CAN HAPPEN Could result in ATV overturning. HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD Use low gearing and maintain steady speed when climbing a hill. If you lose all forward speed: Keep weight uphill. Apply the brakes. Lock parking brake, after you are stopped. Stopping the Engine the throttle completely. • Close Put the shift lever in the "N"(Neutral) position. • Apply the parking brake to help prevent the vehicle • from rolling. the ignition key to "OFF". • Turn Turn the fuel tap to the "OFF" position. • j NOTE żThis vehicle is equipped with a vehicle-down sen- sor, which causes the engine to stop automatically when the ATV is tilted excessively or tipped over. If this sensor is activated, first recover the ATV and turn the ignition key to "OFF" and then back to "ON" before starting the engine. If you begin rolling backwards: Keep weight uphill. Never apply the rear brake while rolling back wards. Apply the front brake. When fully stopped, apply rear brake as well, and then lock parking brake. Dismount on uphill side or to a side if pointed straight uphill. Turn the ATV around and remount, following the procedure described in the Safe Operation chapter.

when climbing a hill.
If you lose all forward speed:
Keep weight uphill.
Apply the brakes.

If you begin rolling backwards:
Keep weight uphill.
Never apply the rear brake while rolling back
wards.
Apply the front brake.
When fully stopped, apply rear brake as well,
and then lock parking brake.
Dismount on uphill side or to a side if pointed
straight uphill.
Turn the ATV around and remount, following
the procedure described in the Safe Opera-
tion chapter.
Stopping the Engine
Close the throttle completely.
Put the shift lever in the “N”(Neutral) position.
Apply the parking brake to help prevent the vehicle
from rolling.
Turn the ignition key to "OFF".
Turn the fuel tap to the “OFF” position.
NOTE

This vehicle is equipped with a vehicle-down sen-
sor, which causes the engine to stop automatically
when the ATV is tilted excessively or tipped over.
If this sensor is activated, first recover the ATV
and turn the ignition key to “OFF” and then back
to “ON” before starting the engine.
