148 MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT Choke Lever Pulling the choke lever to the left makes the carburetor provide a richer mixture for easy starting when the engine is cold. Make sure that the choke lever completely returns to its released position. To determine the amount of choke cable free play at the lever, pull the choke lever to the left until resistance is felt; the amount the choke lever moves is the free play.
