144 MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT Steering Damper This motorcycle is equipped with a steering damper unit. Kawasaki recommends that the steering damping adjuster is at the standard setting during everyday riding. When adjusting the damping adjuster for use in a closed course, adjustment should be done by an authorized Kawasaki dealer. The steering operation should be checked and the steering damper unit should be inspected for oil leakage each day before riding, and the maintenance and adjustments must be carried out in accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart. Damping Force Adjustment When adjusting the damping force of the steering damper, turn the damping force adjuster clockwise or counterclockwise as the following figure. A. B. C. D.
