Control functions ESU10884 Adjusting the spring preload of the front shock absorbers EWS00720 WARNING The spring preload of the left and right shock absorbers must be adjusted to the same setting. Uneven settings can cause poor handling and loss of stability. The spring preload can be adjusted by turning the adjusting rings. To increase the spring preload and thereby harden the suspension, turn the adjusting ring in direction (a). To decrease the spring preload and thereby soften the suspension, turn the adjusting ring in direction (b). Center shock absorber To increase the spring preload and thereby harden the suspension, turn the adjusting ring in direction (a). Adjusting the spring preload of the
front shock absorbers

The spring preload of the left and right
shock absorbers must be adjusted to the
same setting. Uneven settings can cause
poor handling and loss of stability.
The spring preload can be adjusted by turning
the adjusting rings.
To increase the spring preload and thereby
harden the suspension, turn the adjusting ring
in direction (a). To decrease the spring pre-
load and thereby soften the suspension, turn
the adjusting ring in direction (b).

Adjusting the spring preload of the
center shock absorber and the rear
shock absorber
The spring preload can be adjusted by turning
the adjusting ring on the center shock absorb-
er and the adjusting ring on the rear shock ab-
sorber. Adjust the spring preload as follows.
Center shock absorber
To increase the spring preload and thereby
harden the suspension, turn the adjusting ring
in direction (a). To decrease the spring pre-
load and thereby soften the suspension, turn
the adjusting ring in direction (b).
Rear shock absorber
To increase the spring preload and thereby
harden the suspension, turn the adjusting ring
in direction (a). To decrease the spring pre-
load and thereby soften the suspension, turn
the adjusting ring in direction (b).
