Make sure that the drive guard is in-
stalled securely before operating the
snowmobile to protect against severe
injury or death from a broken V-belt or
other part should it come off the snow-
mobile while it is in operation.

Never run the engine with the V-belt re-
moved. Clutch components can be dam-
aged.
Be careful not to scratch the windshield
when removing or installing the drive
guard.
The drive guard is designed to protect the V-
belt clutch and V-belt in case parts break or
come loose.
The drive guard is located behind the left side
cover. (See page 50 for removal procedures.)
To remove the drive guard
1.
Pull out the drive guard locking pin from
the drive guard rear holder.
2.
Lift up the rear of the drive guard as
shown, and then pull the guard rearward
to remove it.

Pull out.
2.
Slide to “FWD” (forward).
3. Release.

Pull out.
2.
Slide to “REV” (reverse).
3. Release.
