The rebound damping force of each shock
absorber can be adjusted by turning its re-
bound damping force adjusting knob.
To increase the rebound damping force, turn
the adjusting knob in direction (a). To de-
crease the rebound damping force, turn the
adjusting knob in direction (b).

Adjusting the spring preload of the
rear shock absorber
The spring preload can be adjusted by turning
the adjusting ring on the rear shock absorber.
To increase the spring preload and thereby
harden the suspension, turn the adjusting ring
in direction (a). To decrease the spring pre-
load and thereby soften the suspension, turn
the adjusting ring in direction (b).
TIP
The spring preload can be further adjusted by
changing the position of the spring seat.
Have a Yamaha dealer make this adjustment
as it requires special tools.
