MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION Transmission Oil Always check and change the transmission oil at the intervals outlined in the Periodic Maintenance Chart beginning on page 62. Maintain the oil level at the bottom of the fill hole threads. We recommend the use of Premium AGL Synthetic Gearcase Lubricant. See page 107 for the part numbers of Polaris products. Oil Check 1. Position the ATV on a level surface. 2. Remove the propshaft shield from the right side of the vehicle to access the fill plug. Remove the fill plug (1). 3. Check the oil level. Add the recommended lubricant as needed. 4. Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm). 5. Reinstall the propshaft shield. 1 Oil Change 1. Position the ATV on a level surface. 1. Remove the propshaft shield from the right side of the vehicle to access the fill plug. Remove the fill plug. 2. Remove the transmission drain plug located on the bottom left-hand side and drain the oil into an appropriate container. Discard used oil properly. 3. Clean and reinstall the drain plug. Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm). 4. Add the proper amount of the recommended lubricant. Refer to the specifications section beginning on page 104 for capacities. 5. Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm). 6. Check for leaks. 7. Reinstall the propshaft shield. 72

OilCheck
1.
Position the ATV on a level
surface.
2.
Remove the propshaft shield from
the right side of the vehicle to
access the fill plug. Remove the
fill plug (1).
3.
Check the oil level. Add the
recommended lubricant as needed.
4.
Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to
14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
5.
Reinstall the propshaft shield.
OilChange
1.
Position the ATV on a level surface.
1.
Remove the propshaft shield from the right side of the vehicle to
access the fill plug. Remove the fill plug.
2.
Remove the transmission drain plug located on the bottom
left-hand side and drain the oil into an appropriate container.
Discard used oil properly.
3.
Clean and reinstall the drain plug. Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
4.
Add the proper amount of the recommended lubricant. Refer to the
specifications section beginning on page 104 for capacities.
5.
Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
6.
Check for leaks.
7.
Reinstall the propshaft shield.
