Cleaning and Storage Storage Tips MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION See page 107 for the part numbers of Polaris products. CAUTION Starting the engine during the storage period will disturb the protective film created by fogging and damage could occur. Never start the engine during the storage period. Exterior Make necessary repairs and then clean the ATV thoroughly with mild soap and warm water to remove all dirt and grime. Don't use harsh detergents or high pressure washers. Some detergents deteriorate rubber parts. Use dish soap type cleaners only. High pressure washers may force water past seals. Fuel Stabilizer Polaris Carbon Clean is a fuel stabilizer and fuel system dryer. It cleans the fuel system, the combustion chamber and the exhaust ports. It also prevents bacterial growth and promotes better starting after the storage period. 1. Fill the fuel tank with fuel and add Polaris Carbon Clean or Fuel Stabilizer. Follow the instructions on the container for the recommended amounts. 2. Start the engine and allow it to run for 15-20 minutes so the stabilizer can disperse through the fuel in the tank and carburetor. 3. Stop the engine, turn the fuel valve off, and drain the carburetor bowl. Oil and Filter Warm the engine and change the oil and filter. Air Filter / Air Box Inspect and clean or replace the pre-cleaner and air filter. Clean the air box and drain the sediment tube. Breather Filter(s) Inspect and clean or replace the breather filter(s). Recoil Housing Remove the recoil housing drain plug and drain any moisture. 101
