Check or Replace Spark Plugs The spark plugs must be removed from the engine to inspect them. Spark plugs with bright white deposits, sooty black deposits, or with damaged insulators or electrodes can indicate engine problems. If these conditions exist, or if the condition of one plug is markedly different from the other, see the VICTORY Service Manual or an authorized VICTORY dealer for assistance. 1. Make sure the engine is at room temperature. 2. Disconnect the spark plug wire by pulling upward on the spark plug boot. 3. To prevent any debris from entering the engine through the spark plug hole, use pressurized air to blow clean the area around each spark plug before removing it. 1 MAINTENANCE 3 2 WARNING Wear face protection when using pressurized air. 1. MAINTENANCE
Check or Replace Spark Plugs
The spark plugs must be removed from the engine to inspect them. Spark
plugs with bright white deposits, sooty black deposits, or with damaged
insulators or electrodes can indicate engine problems. If these conditions
exist, or if the condition of one plug is markedly different from the other,
see the
VICTORY Service Manual
or an authorized VICTORY dealer for
assistance.
1.
Make sure the engine is at room temperature.
2.
Disconnect the spark plug wire by pulling upward on the spark plug
boot.
3.
To prevent any debris from entering the engine through the spark plug
hole, use pressurized air to blow clean the area around each spark plug
before removing it.
Wear face protection when using pressurized air.
