Chapter 1 - About 3270 and 5250 Programming If values are defined more then once the last occurrence of the attribute type and setting are used. If the number of attribute type/value pairs is set to zero then all attribute types are set to their default value. If an error occurs in the type/value setting then the terminal beeps. Set Buffer Note: This order only applies when the terminal is set to use colors for the 3270 data stream. This order changes the color or extended highlighting applicable to the character at the current buffer address, or sets these attribute types to their default value. Attributes are set at the current buffer address and are applied to subsequent characters until: • another SA order is encountered. • the attributes are reset by an Erase/Write. • an Erase/Write alternate command is received with bit 1 of the WCC set to 1. • the operator presses Clear. The Attribute settings can also be cleared by a power-on-reset. The format of the order is the 0x28 opcode for SA. This is then followed by a type which can be either 0x00, 0x41, 0x42 or 0x43 as defined below. Following the type is a value definition as described next. 0x00 Character Attribute Reset When received, all character attributes are set to default values. 0x00 is the only valid attribute value for this type. 0x41 Extended Highlighting 0x00 Default 0xf1 Blink 0xf2 Reverse Video 0xf4 Underscore 0x42 Color 0x00 Default 0xf1 Blue 0xf2 Red 0xf3 Pink 0xf4 Green 0xf5 Turquoise 0xf6 Yellow 0xf7 White Intermec Terminal Emulator (ITE) Programmer's Reference Manual 13

Set Buffer
This order changes the color or extended highlighting applicable to the character at
the current buffer address, or sets these attribute types to their default value.
Attributes are set at the current buffer address and are applied to subsequent
characters until:
another SA order is encountered.
the attributes are reset by an Erase/Write.
