Pull slowly on the recoil starter until it is engaged, then pull it briskly. After the engine starts, put the starter lever (choke) in the "Half-open" position. For the first 10 hours, approximately 200 km (125 mi), do not put an excessive load on the engine. Avoid prolonged full throttle operation. Also avoid lugging the engine, such as laborious operation in wet snow. If any abnormal condition is noticed, such as excessive vibration or noise, consult a Yamaha dealer. 7-2
