Battery Removal & Inspection
Remove the seat.
Loosen the bolts to remove the battery holder.

Disconnect the cables from the battery, first from
the (–) terminal and then the (+) terminal.
Remove the battery out of the case.
Clean the battery using a solution of baking soda
and water. Be sure that the lead connections are
clean.
Perform a visual inspection. Inspect for defective
or cracked case and cover, and loose or damaged
terminal posts or cables. Replace battery and/or
cables immediately if any damage is found.
Battery Installation
Check that the rubber dampers on the battery
holder and the battery case are properly in place.
