MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT
j
Choke Lever
Pulling the choke lever to the left makes the carbu-
retor provide a richer mixture for easy starting when
the engine is cold.
If starting difficulty or richer fuel mixture occurred,
inspect the choke lever to adjust it if necessary.
Inspection
Check if the choke lever returns properly and if the
inner cable slides smoothly. If any irregularity is
suspected, have the choke cable checked by an
authorized Kawasaki dealer.
Make sure that the choke lever completely returns
to its released position.
To determine the amount of choke cable free play
at the lever, pull the choke lever to the left until re-
sistance is felt; the amount the choke lever moves
is the free play.
The proper amount of play is about 3 mm (0.12 in.)
at the choke lever. Adjust the choke cable if there
is too much or too little play.

B. About 3 mm (0.12 in.)
Adjustment
