Checking drive chain tension (fig. 84) Important Have chain tension adjusted by a Ducati Dealer or Authorized Service Center. A Turn the rear wheel until you find the position where chain is tightest. Set the vehicle on the sidestand. With just a finger, push down the chain at the point of measurement and release. Measure the distance (A) between the center of the chain pins and the aluminum section of the swingarm. Must equal: A = 1.5 ÷ 1.6 in (39 ÷ 41 mm) 39 ÷ 41 mm 1.5÷1.6 in fig. 84 Warning Correct tightening of swingarm screws (1) is critical to rider and passenger safety. Important

With just a finger, push down the chain at the point
of measurement and release. Measure the distance

aluminum section of the swingarm. Must equal: A =
1.5 ÷ 1.6 in (39 ÷ 41 mm)
Warning
