To set the rear brake pedal, loosen the counter nut (4), turn the pedal stroke adjusting screw (5) until pedal is in the desired position. Tighten the counter nut (4). Operate the pedal by hand to check that there is 0.06÷0.08 in (1.5÷2 mm) of freeplay before the brake bites. If not, adjust the length of the master cylinder pushrod as follows. Slacken the counter nut (6) on the pushrod. Tighten linkage into fork (7) to increase play, or unscrew linkage to reduce it. Tighten the counter nut (6) and recheck the pedal freeplay. 6 5 7 4 Fig. 52 95

(4), turn the pedal stroke adjusting screw (5) until
pedal is in the desired position. Tighten the counter
nut (4). Operate the pedal by hand to check that there
is 0.06÷0.08 in (1.5÷2 mm) of freeplay before the
brake bites.
If not, adjust the length of the master cylinder
pushrod as follows.
Slacken the counter nut (6) on the pushrod.
Tighten linkage into fork (7) to increase play, or
unscrew linkage to reduce it.
Tighten the counter nut (6) and recheck the pedal
freeplay.
