The condition of the throttle cables and choke cable sheaths should be checked at regular intervals. There should be no signs of pinching or cracking on the outer plastic sheath. Operate the controls to make sure the inner cable slides smoothly inside the outer sheath: if you feel any friction or catching, have the cable replaced by a Ducati Dealer or Authorized Service Center. To avoid this kind of problem, periodically lubricate the ends of each control cable with SHELL Advance Grease or Retinax LX2. Concerning the throttle cable, it is advised to open the housing, unscrewing the two fastening screws (1) and then grease the cable end and the pulley.
