Updating, server, configuration - serverguide

Page 69 highlights

Updating the server configuration When you start the server for the first time after you add or remove a device, you might receive a message indicating that the configuration has changed. The Configuration/Setup Utility program automatically starts so that you can save the new configuration information. For more information, see Chapter 3, "Configuring the server," on page 57. Some optional devices have device drivers that you need to install. See the documentation that comes with the option for information about installing any required device drivers. The server comes with at least one microprocessor installed on the system board. If more than one microprocessor is installed, the server can operate as an SMP server. You might have to upgrade the operating system to support SMP. For more information, see "Using the ServerGuide Setup and Installation CD" on page 64 and the operating-system documentation. If you have installed an adapter to manage the server remotely, see the documentation that comes with the adapter for information about setting up, configuring, and using the adapter. To configure the integrated Gigabit Ethernet controllers, Chapter 3, "Configuring the server," on page 57. Chapter 2. Installing optional devices 55

Updating
the
server
configuration
When
you
start
the
server
for
the
first
time
after
you
add
or
remove
a
device,
you
might
receive
a
message
indicating
that
the
configuration
has
changed.
The
Configuration/Setup
Utility
program
automatically
starts
so
that
you
can
save
the
new
configuration
information.
For
more
information,
see
Chapter

Some
optional
devices
have
device
drivers
that
you
need
to
install.
See
the
documentation
that
comes
with

for
information
about
installing
any
required
device
drivers.
The
server
comes
with
at
least
one
microprocessor
installed
on
the
system
board.
If
more
than
one
microprocessor
is
installed,
the
server
can
operate
as
an
SMP
server.
You
might
have
to
upgrade
the
operating
system
to
support
SMP.
For
more
information,
see
“Using

If
you
have
installed
an
adapter
to
manage
the
server
remotely,
see
the
documentation
that
comes
with
the
